HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilation) & ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator),
HRV & ERV are air exchangers that remove air from the home and replacing it with fresh outdoor air. The HRV unit recovers heat by transferring heat from outgoing air to incoming air. The ERV does the same, but also transfers moisture. The benefits of an HRV & ERV:
- Reduces high humidity levels in the home, best used during winter months to reduce condensation on windows
- Reduce indoor pollutants and odours
- Heat transferred to incoming air from outgoing air, thus reducing the cost to heat the outside air coming in
